Volunteer

Being a Volunteer

Do you want to help us during the River Rafting or during our festival? Then you’ve come to the right place! You can apply HERE.

We have two types of volunteers, rafting volunteers and festival volunteers. You decide what type of volonteer you want to work as, when you want to work and how many shifts you work.

Rafting Volunteers work during Valborg (April 30th) and get free entry to ÖG nation's Champagne Gallop!

Being a rafting volunteer cannot be combined with rafting. To read more about the different types of rafting volunteer check the tab under “rafting volunteer”.

Festival Volunteers can work shifts during the festival 20–27 april and the rigging up 17th of April and rigging down 28–29 April. Being festival volunteer can easily be combined with rafting, as well as rigging up and rigging down volunteer. To read more about the different types of rafting volunteer check the tab under “festival volunteer”.

No matter what type of volunteer you work as, you will get food and a soda during your shift. You will get to attend an appreciation gasque for free if you work either two shifts during the festival, one shift during the rafting or raft building volunteer. Speaking Swedish is only a requirement for guard volunteers; for all other positions, speaking English works great! As a volunteer you have to attend the volunteer education on either the 28 of March, which will be held in Swedish, or on the 29th of March which will be held in English.

If there are any questions regarding the volunteer positions, please contact drag@forsranningen.utn.se

Gear
volonteer

Do you like to stand? You like to watch people? Do you like to chit chat with your friends while you watch them fail miserably with their raft? Then Gear Volunteer is perfect for you!As a geer volunteer you don’t really do much to be honest. You just kind of walk around and make sure the tools are in order or something. The Swedish employment agency would not even classify this as “activity”. But you can just kind of chill as a geer volunteer and if you get bored you can clean up a little, and we promise it'll only be a little. Our state of the art styrofoam cutters do need some surveillance since they do work 70% of the time. For this blue collar honest hard work you receive an entire lunch worth of a lunch coupon that is collectable after a session. After 2 completed sessions you will be invited to a gratitude dinner where you will receive a patch for your outstanding work at the wild west also known as the building area. The shifts are 4 hours long and you can work before or after lunch.

Unfortunately you will not be allowed to raft this raft, but it comes with other perks such as free tickets to ÖG champagne gallop and 4 food tickets per person. Each group will be given a design and instructions from the company owning the raft. Raft building volunteers will work in groups of 4, and decide for themself when they work and build the raft. A big recommendation is to gather a crew of pleasant friends and apply together as Raft building volunteers, and have a fun time building a raft together. Raft building volunteers will have to take part in the first part of the rafting education, where you are educated in how to build the raft as well as how to handle the tools at the construction area. The rafting education will be held the 4:th of April in both Swedish and English. So apply now, and enjoy spending time on the construction area together with the Rafting comittée!
